You can't miss The Hive. It is the big yellow building built by the river in Worcester. It makes the Wolves football ground look dull. The postcode is WR1 3PB. There is loads of parking nearby under the viaduct across the river.
A partnership between Worcestershire Library service and Worcester University this place is quickly becoming one of my favourite places in the world. It is open 8.30am - 10pm (including Sundays!), full of books, is designed for you to be able to read in... and the cafe sells good coffee. What more could you want?! Perfect for wet weekends and school holidays. The children's library is huge, including a great non fiction section to help with homework or to find books about the topic they are learning about. I am always amazed at how many children aren't members of Worcestershire Libraries. Any books you borrow from The Hive can be returned to any library in Worcestershire. Better still if the book you want is not available you can reserve it for free (75p for adults), they will deliver it to your nearest library and send you an Email to tell you it is there. It is almost too good to be true and these days, it's something you should try to do whenever you can, for the more people who use the libraries the harder it will be for them to be shut down.
