If you enjoyed Butterfly Summer by Ann-Mari Conway then you will love this story. Mia's plans for February half term are ruined when a phone call from her Gran means that Mia and her Mum must dash across the country to a little fishing village to be with Gran. Mia's Grandad has gone missing and Gran needs their support. Stuck in the village, with no internet, no phone signal and very little television Mia must explore the beach to find something to do. When she finds a boat she starts to communicate with someone who could become her friend, she also meets Peter, and immediately realises that there is a connection between them.... but as the story unfolds she discovers that the connection is nothing like what she imagined. Stick with this story. It has a slowish start but builds as suddenly as the waves out at sea do.
