The blurb says Indiana Jones meets the Da Vinci Code in this exciting new series for readers aged 9+. What is there not to love about that???
Set in Egypt on an archaeological dig the story follows the adventures of Ryan Flint and Cleo McNeil as they attempt to solve the Phoenix Code and find an ancient treasure.
There is danger as the children are chased by forces intent on capturing the treasure for their own evil means. There is excitement as they unravel the mystery piece by piece. There is even an element of romance ( or a love/hate relationship) between the two main characters. If you have enjoyed The History Keepers and The Secret Breakers, even if you enjoyed Helen Moss' other series, The Adventure Island, featured on here, you will love this book.
****UPDATE***
I have now read the second book in the series, The Dragon Path, set in China. All the same excitement, clues to follow, riddles to solve, adventure, villains and the wonderful characters of Ryan and Cleo.
In visiting China Ryan and Cleo aren't just visiting an ancient burial site from 2000 years ago. They are also visiting a place Cleo's Gran visited when she was a child, a place from which she has held a secret for almost her entire life. After promising to return a treasured possession for her Ryan and Cleo are catapulted into another adventure. A brilliant story!
The Helen Moss website is a wonderful place and updated regularly. Do have a look. A third book in the series comes out in mid - July, just in time for the summer holidays!!!
